‘Rei-Ki’, which means ‘universal life force’ is the simplest art of life energy renewal and there are no exercises, special breathing or words required. Regular classes and practise are not necessary. You can practise Rei-ki at work, home or play simply by placing your hand(s) over the vital organs of your body for an ‘instant recharge’ without conscious effort. Rei-ki is a valuable first aid tool which helps relieve pain, reduce swelling, staunch the flow of blood and can be applied effectively in emergency situations to aid others as well as yourself.
How 'Rei-Ki' works
The body is always capable of healing itself, given optimum resources: high quality nutrition, sunlight, air, water, exercise, a positive mental attitude and energy. By enhancing the life force with Rei-ki energy transmitted through the hands, the body can mobilize its healing resources to reverse the disease process, physically, emotionally and mentally. While it is generally experienced as calming and comforting, under some circumstances Rei-ki can trigger a reaction or spontaneous healing crisis, by rapid release of stored toxins, as in homeopathy and other natural therapies. This is a positive sign to do more Rei-ki until the temporary physical response passes. The energy flows at the touch of your hands and, simultaneously, your brainwave pattern slows down to the meditational level of 8 – 10 Hz (alpha) – the natural rhythm of the universe. Rei-ki has been demonstrated on medical monitoring equipment to enhance uptake of oxygen in the haemoglobin by up to 30%.
What 'Rei-Ki' feels like
By the laying-on of hands, Rei-ki energy is experienced by the practitioner and the subject in varying ways. It may feel warm, sometimes hot, or tingling. Occasionally it may feel quite chill or may be observed as a tremor or even a distinct shaking. It is often experienced as a surging feeling of unconditional love, joy and forgiveness.
How is this 'Gift' acquired?
Four procedures or 'attunements' take place over the duration of the course, when your ‘energy field’s antenna is fine-tuned’ by the Rei-ki Master. The fourth and final attunement ensures that access to the Rei-ki energy is available for the rest of your life. No further training is necessary, although some students may progress to the Advanced Level of Reiki, which enhances insight into health problems and destructive habits, as well as empowering energy transmission from a distance. The only other level of prowess in Rei-ki is that of the Master Teacher.

The Training FormatThere are 2 levels of courses offered - Rei-Ki 1 & Rei-Ki 2.
Rei-Ki 1 or the Basic Level seminar is conducted over the duration of a full day. Students are introduced to the elements and aspects of Rei-ki and learn how to treat themselves and others.

Rei-Ki 1 is a 'hands-on' healing technique where the practitioner transmits healing energy by placing his hands on himself or someone else.

Rei-ki 2 or the Advance Level is conducted over a duration of 2 days and takes people deeper into the System and requires greater commitment. The advance level of training allows the practitioner to transmit the Rei-Ki healing energy over a distance - in absentia. Procedures taught at Basic Level Rei-ki 1 prepare the student for this next step and it is recommended that there be a minimum of three months between the classes.

The advance level of training allows the practitioner to transmit the Rei-Ki healing energy over a distance - in absentia. Procedures taught at Basic Level Rei-ki 1 prepare the student for this next step and it is recommended that there be a minimum of three months between the classes.
